To encourage student recruitment, the RQR is offering 3 scholarships of 10 000$ for M.Sc. and Ph.D. students (preference will be given to new students). These scholarships are for one year, non-renewable. To apply, you must complete the application form and send a copy of your transcripts to Eliane Auger (see form). Each application will be reviewed by the RQR training committee. The competition ends on March 30th 2009. No applications will be accepted after that date. Students awarded a government scholarship (NSERC, FQRNT, etc.) are not eligible. For any additional information, contact the RQR network manager, Eliane Auger.

The RQR is offering numerous travel awards of 500$ to RQR students wishing to participate in national and international meetings. The deadline to submit an application is now March 15th. To participate, you must complete the application form and send it to eliane.auger@umontreal.ca.

RQR Travel Awards

The 2009 RQR symposium will take place on November 17th and 18th at the Delta Centre-ville in Montréal. the format of the meeting will resemble that of last year. However, on the second day, we will unite with the CFAS meeting in a colloquium. More details to come.

Two training workshops will be presented in the coming weeks. The first one will be on laser microdissection and will take place at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in St-Hyacinthe on March 26th. The workshop will be presented by Dr. Rajesha Duggavathi from McGill University. The second workshop is entitled`Spermatogenesis and Staging the Cycle of the Seminiferous Epithelium of mouse, rat and man’ and will take place at McGill University on April 14th and 15th. The workshop will be given by Dr. Carlos Morales from McGill University, and Dr. Richard Oko from Queens University. You must reserve ahead for either workshop by sending your contact information and the title of the workshop in which you wish to participate to eliane.auger@umontreal.ca.
