RQR-CREATE Scholarship competition—Spring 2010

RQR Conferences

Dr. Florian-Kai Storch’s conference entitled ‘Circadian Clocks along the reproductive axiswill be available on the RQR website (member section) until April 15th 2010.


As of April 16th, it will be replaced by the presentation of Hugh Clarke. Dr. Clarke’s seminar was held at the CRRA on March 10 2010. It is entitled ‘Post-transcriptional control of gene expression during oogenesis.

We are pleased to announce the RQR workshop, ‘Introduction to Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection’, to be held at McGill University on Thursday May 6. Participants will learn about the history and current application of ICSI, including its advantages and limitations. Practical work will include handling germ cells and the procedures involved in ICSI. This course is intended to provide an introduction to the ICSI technique and is appropriate for those interested in assisted reproduction, techniques used in germ cell and embryo research, or the ICSI procedure specifically. We can accommodate up to 6 participants. Please apply using the attached form, which is also available at (www.rqr.umontreal.ca).

ICSI Training Workshop

The RQR CREATE scholarship program aims to provide partial financial assistance to the best candidates enrolled in a M.Sc., Ph.D. or postdoctoral degree. It also provides partial support for  undergraduate summer students. The details of the spring competition are available on the RQR website. The application deadline is April 15th.

Detailed guidelines

The final program of the RQR Colloquium at the Acfas congress is now available. The colloquium will take place on May 10th 2010 at the Université de Montréal. Nine guest speakers will speak on the environmental toxicology of reproduction. The programs includes an invited lecture by Dr. Rémy Slama from INSERM in France. To attend this colloquium, you must register to the Acfas congress. Note that all conferences will be given in French.
