RQR-CREATE Scholarships: Spring 2013 competition

ICSI Workshop

The scholarships are awarded to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows studying under the supervision of one or more RQR researchers. The scholarships are for one year with a possibility of renewal. Scholarship support for
graduate studies through the RQR-CREATE program is limited to a maximum of 4 years.

 

M.Sc.: 10 000$ per year for a maximum of two years

Ph.D.: 10 000$ per year for a maximum of three years

Postdoctoral fellows: 15 000$ per year for a maximum of two years

Summer students: 2 500$ per summer, not renewable (available at the spring competition)

We are pleased to announce the RQR workshop, ‘Introduction to Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection’, to be held at McGill University on Saturday March 23rd.

 

Participants will learn about the history and current
application of ICSI, including its advantages and
limitations. Practical work will include handling germ cells and the procedures involved in ICSI. This course is
intended to provide an introduction to the ICSI technique and is appropriate for those interested in assisted
reproduction, techniques used in germ cell and embryo research, or the ICSI procedure specifically. We can
accommodate up to 6 participants.

Successful applicants will be notified by: March 15, 2013

Workshop will be held: March 23, 2013

 

Preliminary agenda

The RQR offers travel awards of $500 to cover costs associated with a national or international meetings to promote scientific exchange. For a meeting held in the province of Québec the amount of the award is $250.  

 

Deadline to submit your application : April 15th 2013.

 

The admission criteria are the following:

· The meeting must occur between March 1st and October 31st 2013

· Applicants must be giving a poster or platform presentation at the meeting

· Annual update of the web page of your research director on the RQR website must be completed

· Only one travel award per year per student

· The meeting cannot take place in the city where the applicant lives

·  

*** Note: Students must include the RQR logo in their presentation ***

 

Students and postdoctoral fellows can apply by sending the Registration form to j.blouin@umontreal.ca by April 15th 2013.

 

If the travel grant is awarded, the following documents will be required:

· Proof of registration to the meeting

· Proof your abstract was accepted for an oral or poster presentation
