The RQR offers travel awards of $500 to cover costs associated with a national or international meetings to promote scientific exchange. For a meeting held in the province of Québec the amount of the award is $250.  

 

Deadline to submit your application : April 15th 2013.

 

The admission criteria are the following:

· The meeting must occur between March 1st and October 31st 2013

· Applicants must be giving a poster or platform presentation at the meeting

· Annual update of the web page of your research director on the RQR website must be completed

· Only one travel award per year per student

· The meeting cannot take place in the city where the applicant lives

·  

*** Note: Students must include the RQR logo in their presentation ***

 

Students and postdoctoral fellows can apply by sending the Registration form to j.blouin@umontreal.ca by April 15th 2013.

 

If the travel grant is awarded, the following documents will be required:

· Proof of registration to the meeting

· Proof your abstract was accepted for an oral or poster presentation

Genome Browser Workshop

24 hours of science

This two-day workshops will be given by Dr. Robert Kuhn from UCSC at the Faculty of veterinary medicine on May 13th and 14th. It will provide participants with in-depth demonstration of the function of the Genome Browser.

The RQR will participate again this year in 24 heures de science by presenting an activity entiteled : Sperm: not just a question of numbers.

 

After the presentation of the documentary Male fertility: sperm quality as important as their number, Dr. Bernard Robaire from McGill University, and Dr. Geraldine Delbès from the INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier, will hold a debate on the topics presented and answer questions from the audience.
