Guest Speakers of the 2013 RQR Symposium

The 46th annual meeting of the SSR

The 6th Symposium of the Réseau Québécois en reproduction will take place on November 12 and 13 2013 at the Centre des arts Juliette-Lassonde. We are deliethed to present our three guest speakers for the program:

 

·  Kathleen M. Caron, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, USA

· Subject: Placental formation

· Barbara Vanderhyden,  Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, University of Ottawa

· Stem cells in the ovary: Is this why ovulation is a risk factor for ovarian cancer?

· David Zarkover, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA

· Sexual differentiation and transdifferentiation in the mammalian gonad

 

 

 

The RQR was the host of the 46th annual meeting of the SSR which took place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal on July 22nd to 26th 2013.

The meeting was a success with 1172 participants representing 36 countries! RQR members presented over 70 presentations (Oral and Posters) and RQR trainee Kalyne Bertolin won an award for her oral presentation.

We would like to thank all RQR members who volunteered their time toward the organisation of the Congress. We are especially grateful to the Local Arrangement Committee members.

In addition to the high attendance and to the record number of abstracts received, the SSR meeting, with the help of the RQR, attracted the attention of the media.
