2013 Pre-Symposium Workshop

RQR-CREATE Scholarships: Fall 2013

This year, the Pre-Symposium Workshop is hosting a field trip/visit to industry sites and a satellite meeting co-organized by two RQR trainees, Burak Özkösem and Clémence Belleannée and funded partially by a grant from the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB).

In the morning, participants will be bused to l'Alliance Boviteq Inc. and CIAQ. The visits will include observation of live collection of bull semen.

In the afternoon, the symposium entitled Decoding Intercellular Conversations in Reproduction Meeting includes a keynote speaker, Nicolas Da Silva from the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, talks by trainees, a round table on career development and a talk from a young investigator who recently built a start-up company from the ground up. Goals of this meeting are to promote exchange between students and young scientists, and to discuss possible career opportunities in the reproduction field.

To encourage networking between the trainees and researchers, a Pizza dinner with the mentors will follow the day of conferences. The day will close with the screening of the movie Ph.D. The movie’.

We encourage trainees to submit their abstracts to present in this workshop, and to register by Octobre 7th 2013.
