Symposium : Last Day to Submit an Abstract!

We are delighted to inform you that the 7th symposium of the Réseau Québécois en reproduction will take place on
November 11 et 12 novembre 2014 at the Plaza Québec hotel in Ste-Foy. This year, a new session was added to the program in the goal of stimulating the development of new collaborations. During this session, six new members of the RQR will present their work and themselves! We will also hold an exciting pre-symposium workshop entitled « Back to the Future » on November 10th 2014. On the program: six guest speakers and the first RQR job fair! We hope to see you there!

Endangered Species

· William Kelly, Emory University : Transcription-Dependent Establishment of Epigenetic Memory in the Germline of C. elegans

· Wei Yan, University of Nevada School of Medicine : Small noncoding RNAs in gametogenesis and epigenetic
transgenerational inheritance

RQR-CREATE Scholarships: Last Competition Now Open!

As the RQR CREATE grant ends on March 31st, 2015, the Fall 2014 competition will be the last.

The scholarships will be awarded to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows under the supervision of one or more RQR researchers. The scholarships are for one year, not renewable. Scholarship support for graduate studies through the RQR-CREATE program is limited to a maximum of 4 years.

· M.Sc.: 10 000$ per year, not renewable

· Ph.D.: 10 000$ per year, not renewable

· Postdoctoral fellows: 15 000$ per year, not renewable

RQR Knowledge Transfer Award : Last Day to Apply!

The RQR offers two annual Knowledge Transfer Awards of $400 each: a researcher award and a trainee award. Applications (maximum one page) must be submitted by October 1st. The recipients will receive an award and an honorary plaque during the symposium in November.

From researchers to end users: The next step

As part of the RQR Knowledge Translation Workshop Series, the RQR is currently organizing its second workshop which will be entitled "From researchers to end users: The next step". 

The event will take place in early December. The program and registration form will be available soon!

The first in the series took place during the RQR pre-symposium workshop in November 2011.
