En plus du laboratoire d'embryologie à St-Hyacinthe, Boviteq a mis en place un laboratoire spécialisé en spermatologie à Ste-Madeleine. Ces deux laboratoires offrent les diverses techniques de procréation assistée ainsi que des nouvelles technologies pour mieux évaluer la fertilité et la qualité de la semence. De plus, Boviteq a mis en place un laboratoire de biologie moléculaire et a incorporé de nouvelles technologies pour mieux évaluer la qualité des ovocytes et des embryons.  

Il est clair que les outils diagnostiques doivent être développés pour : 

  • mieux comprendre la différence entre des spermatozoïdes plus ou moins fertiles,
  • identifier un ovocyte avec une plus haute compétence au développement embryonnaire,
  • identifier un embryon de haute qualité comparable à un embryon produit in vivo

 

Une fois ces outils diagnostiques développés, il est possible de développer des stratégies thérapeutiques pour : 

  • produire une semence plus fertile,
  • développer des programmes de surovulation et des milieux de maturation in vitro plus efficaces pour produire des ovocytes compétents,

produire des milieux de culture plus efficaces pour une culture in vitro et produire des embryons capables d’induire des gestations et de résister à la congélation.
