4th RQR Symposium / Workshop "From Researcher to User"

 

The fourth RQR Symposium took place on November 15th and 16th at hotel Omni Mont-Royal, Montréal. We had the pleasure to welcome the following invited speakers:

  • Dr Peter Sutovsky from University of Missouri: "Ubiquitin-Proteasome Pathway in Spermatogenesis, Fertilization and Early Embryo Development: Killing Three Birds with One Stone"
  • Dr Stephanie Pangas from Baylor College of Medicine: "Reproductive function of the TGFB family signal transduction pathway"
  • Dr Francesco DeMayo also from Baylor College of Medicine: "In vivo analysis of Progesterone action in the uterus"

 

More than 220 participants have the opportunity to see 15 oral presentations given by trainees, and 68 posters presentations.

 

We would like to congratulate the winners of the excellence awards.

 

Poster presentations:

  • 1st price: Caroline Daems, Université Laval (Dr. Jacques J. Tremblay)
  • 2nd price: Yi-Qian Ma, McGill University (Dr. Barbara F. Hales)

 

Oral presentation:

  • 1st price: Kalyne Bertolin, Université de Montréal (Dr. Bruce D. Murphy)
  • 2nd price: Clotilde Maurice, Université Laval (Dr. Janice L. Bailey)

 

Two students representing the RQR were elect during the 2011 Symposium: Clotilde Maurice, from Université Laval and Serge McGraw, from McGill University.  

 

Workshop on knowledge transfer: "From researcher to user"

The RQR offered a pre-symposium workshop, Monday November 14th in the afternoon, also at the hotel Omni. The workshop "From researcher to user" addressed knowledge transfer and was follow by a 5 to 7 at the hotel, including a first drink provided by the RQR, and a diner at the restaurant Les 3 Brasseurs.

 

The seven speakers accepted to add their presentations on the RQR website, in the secured section. You can see the program of the afternoon.
